WASHINGTON – Fans of the boy band One Direction have something to cheer about.

A list of the top 100 most-viewed articles on Wikipedia in 2012 has been released.

The most-viewed articles involved Facebook with more than 32 million views.

The word “wiki” appeared second, with 29 million looks. Death came in as a close third, followed by One Direction and the movie “The Avengers.”

“Fifty shades of Grey,” the 2012 phenomenon, “The Dark Knight Rises,” Google and “The Hunger Games” rounded out the top 10.

Thought Wikipedia itself does not release a list, it does allow others to access its logs. Johan Gunnarsson, a Swedish software engineer, compiled the statistics, according to CNET.
