21-year-old man fatally shot in Southeast D.C.

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating a homicide after a 21-year-old man was fatally shot early Thursday in Southeast Washington.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers saw someone lying in the street near the intersection of 16th and Galen streets in Southeast around 3:45 a.m.

Police say Stephon Marquis Perkins, of Maryland, was apparently shot. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case. Anyone with information about the homicide should call police at 202-727-9099 or text message 50411.
