WASHINGTON – Two men have been charged in connection with a fatal shooting and robbery inside Reston apartment and the victim has been identified.

Fairfax County police say Eddie Rodriguez, 22 of Woodbridge, and Dominique May, 18 of Reston, have been arrested on charges of attempted robbery and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. However police say more charges could be filed.

Rashad K. Daye, 24 of Herndon, was visiting the Stoneview Square apartment when Rodriquez and May came to the home intending to rob someone Sunday afternoon. Instead, there was an altercation and Daye was shot and killed, police said.

Police initially called it a home invasion and believed that as many as five people had swarmed the apartment. But investigators quickly determined that wasn’t the case and police clarified, saying that the crime was not random.
