Rockville gets high marks for families

ROCKVILLE – Rockville’s landed on the list of 10 “Best Cities for Families,” according to the website, Livability.com.

Rockville, one of Maryland’s largest cities, ranked in the top 10 thanks to a low crime rate, the lowest in the study’s top 10, and high walkability rating. The city’s many amenities for families, including the Rockville Memorial Library and the Croydon Creek Nature Center were also spotlighted by the site.
The website also noted the emphasis local schools put on science and technology, and singled out the condition of the city’s many parks — rated as being in “great shape”– as factors in the city’s ranking.

It’s not the first time Rockville’s been cited by Livability.com. It was noted as a ”Best Place to Live” in 2013 as well.

Rockville’s Virginia neighbor, Leesburg got the No. 5 spot on the list. Who got the No. 1 spot? Overland Park, Kansas.
