Local female soldier dies in Kuwait

WASHINGTON – The Department of Defense announced the death Wednesday of a local female soldier serving in a support role for the war in Afghanistan.

Army Staff Sgt. Jessica Wing, 42, of Alexandria, Va., died Monday in Kuwait City, Kuwait. She passed away in a non-combat-related incident.

Wing was assigned to the 1st Battalion of the 126th Aviation Regiment in Bangor, Maine. No other details on the cause of death are available at this time.
