Man charged with murder in weekend shooting

WASHINGTON – Police have made an arrest in a deadly shooting that happened over the weekend in northwest D.C.

Around 2 a.m. Sunday, two men were found with apparent gunshot wounds in the 400 block of Butternut Street, Northwest. One of the men was taken to a local hospital. Police said 39-year-old Darryn Conte was pronounced dead at the scene.

Forty-two-year-old Mark Beasley of Laurel, Maryland was arrested Thursday and charged with murder in connection to Conte’s death.

No additional information has been released.
