Police give all-clear at Towson University after possible gunman on campus

WASHINGTON — Police have given the all-clear at Towson University after fearing a possible gunman was on the school’s campus Monday night. Police say they got a call there was an armed person inside the Baltimore County university’s Albert S. Cook Library — however they say that investigation is over as of 7:55 p.m. and no incidents occurred. Police say they do not believe the threat was in connection with the riots going on in Baltimore tonight. The library — which was on lockdown at about 7 p.m. — has reopened.

The pitching of Steve Dalkowski made it to the big screen, but he never made it to the major leagues. Dalkowski, who pitched for the Baltimore Orioles’ minor leagues teams from 1957-1965, died April 19 at the age of 80. The Nuke LaLoosh character in the movie classic "Bull Durham" was loosely based on Dalkowski’s career.
