Police: Wife fights for life after husband shoots her, self

WASHINGTON — A woman is fighting for her life after police say her husband shot her then himself in their Reston home Thursday.

Police say the shooting came after the couple had an argument.

Detectives have identified the husband as Stephen Thompson, 29. The name of his wife, age 33, hasn’t been released. Both are hospitalized and the wife’s injuries are life-threatening.  

Thompson, who doesn’t have life-threatening injuries, has been charged with malicious wounding.

A Virginia pet expo running through Sunday is hoping to help those who recently got new pets to find what they need. Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
