Alexandria-area townhouse fire under investigation

WASHINGTON — A fire at a three-story townhouse in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County, Virginia is under investigation.

The 7:20 a.m. fire on Ridley Court was on the roof of a three-story home, according to Fairfax County Fire spokesman Dan Schmidt.

No one was injured, and no one was home at the time.

Firefighters cleared the scene around 8:30 a.m.

Eric Udler, producer of the Super Pet Expo at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, said that there has been a significant increase in pets being adopted with so many people working from home.
