Watch: Selma honors congressman, civil rights icon John Lewis

Selma, Alabama, will honor the late congressman and civil rights icon John Lewis at the Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church with a service Saturday evening.

A service celebrating “The Boy from Troy” was held earlier today on the campus of Troy University. On Sunday, his casket will be carried across Selma’s Edmund Pettus Bridge, where he and other civil rights activists were beaten by state troopers in 1965, before lying in repose at the Alabama Capitol.

Watch a livestream below around 7 p.m. once events begin.
