Arsonist gets 6 years after sending ex burning home photo

OAKLAND, Md. (AP) _ A six-year prison term awaits a Western Maryland man who set fire to the home of his estranged wife, sent her a cellphone photo of the blaze and then sat in his vehicle, drinking beer and watching it burn.

The Cumberland Times-News reports (http://bit.ly/1FrM8FN ) that 41-year-old Dayton Bolyard was sentenced Wednesday in Oakland.

He pleaded guilty in January to first-degree arson. Investigators say the house was destroyed.

The state fire marshal’s office obtained video of Bolyard buying gasoline and diesel fuel less than 30 minutes before the fire was reported.
