WASHINGTON — An innocent bystander was shot in the leg after two men got into a fight on a Metrobus in Southeast D.C. on Friday. Metro says the woman was shot in the leg on a 92 Metro bus near the intersection of Good Hope Road and Naylor Roads around 3:30 p.m. Police say two men, ages 19 and 20, got into a fight aboard the packed bus – one had a hammer, the other a gun. The woman is expected to be okay. Metro Transit Police say it appears the woman suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg, ABC 7 reports. Investigators and witnesses say the woman was wounded when one of the men fired his gun. Both men were taken into custody by police at the scene, but officers are investigating the area near the bus looking for the gun that was used. Police say one of the two men, 23-year-old Wade Patterson of D.C., was charged with assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly firing the gun. Metro says the shooting resulted in delayed buses along routes 30N, 30S, 32, 34, 36, 39 and 92 during the Friday afternoon commute.
