Safety improvements coming to Potomac trails

Adam Tuss, wtop.com

WASHINGTON – There are places around here where runners, bikers and walkers mix dangerously close to fast moving cars.

Memorial Circle, the George Washington Parkway and Mount Vernon Trail are just a few.

Now, Northern Virginia Democratic Congressman Jim Moran says safety improvements are coming to those locations.

For instance, rumble strips will go down, a crosswalk will be moved and new signage will go up.

The project to put in these safety improvements starts next week and should be finished in the fall.
