Hokies, Hurricanes seek Thursday night magic

Virginia Tech and Miami are accustomed to meeting late in the season with big stakes on the line.

On Thursday night in Blacksburg, Virginia, they will battle to remain relevant in the ACC’s Coastal Division race.

Both teams bring 4-3 overall records and 1-2 marks in the Atlantic Coast Conference into the game. The loser will be left with a very steep hill to climb to get back into contention for the division title, even in a season when the race is viewed as wide open.

Both teams also will be hoping to continue to find that Thursday night magic.

Virginia Tech leads the ACC with 20 wins on Thursday night. Miami has a 17-3 mark in the games for the league’s best winning percentage.
