Murder charge filed after fight outside Centreville bar

WASHINGTON — Murder charges have been filed in connection with a fight last weekend outside a bar in Centreville, and the police are looking for two men wanted in another assault that was part of the same brawl.

The Fairfax County police say Harold Garnett, 27, died Saturday evening from injuries he suffered in a fight in the predawn hours of Saturday outside Velocity 5, on Lee Highway.

They originally charged 38-year-old Vidal Flores Cuchillas with malicious wounding; on Thursday he was rebooked on a homicide charge. He’s being held without bond.

Investigators are still looking for two unidentified men who they think took part in an assault on another man during the fight. They’re described as Hispanic men in their mid- to late 20s with thin builds.

Police think up to 50 people saw the fight, and they’re urging anyone with information, no matter how small, to contact them.
