Phase II of The Wharf: Here’s how it will look (Photos)

WASHINGTON — As D.C. begins to get acquainted with The Wharf, developers are preparing to break ground on the ambitious development’s next stage.

[related_gallery align=”right”]For Phase II, PN Hoffman and Madison Marquette will add onto The Wharf’s current mix of office, residential, restaurant and retail space. A marina will also be added. This new segment will be just east of Phase I, along Maine Avenue Southwest.

Work is expected to begin in mid-2018, with an expected completion date of 2022.

Phase II will comprise seven buildings and include

  • 547,504 square feet of office space;
  • 317 residential dwelling units;
  • 119,059 square feet of retail;
  • 116 hotel rooms; and
  • 250 boat slips.

Other highlights are

  • M Street Landing, a 1.8-acre plaza that will feature seating areas, a bikeshare station, short-term bicycle parking and café seating; and
  • The Grove, an open space that will feature general outdoor seating and dining seating for nearby restaurants.
