Georgetown to widen sidewalks, offer discount parking

WASHINGTON — The streets will be wider, parking will be cheaper and the Circulator will be free for parents and local university students during family weekend in Georgetown this Saturday and Sunday.

The Georgetown Business Improvement District will temporarily widen the sidewalks along the 3200 block of M Street between Wisconsin Avenue and Potomac Street starting 6:30 p.m. Friday through 5 p.m. Sunday.

Sidewalks will have eight extra feet of pedestrian space on both sides of the street.

Free Circulator rides will be provided on northbound routes between 30th and K streets and the Whitehaven Parkway.

PMI garage located at the 3307 M Street will offer $5 flat rate parking, and Colonial Parking at 3222 M Street will offer a 25 percent discount.
