Former DC police officer gets 7 years in pimp case

WASHINGTON (AP) — A former District of Columbia police officer has been sentenced to seven years for prostituting teenage girls from his southeast Washington apartment.

Linwood Barnhill Jr. was sentenced Thursday in federal court. He pleaded guilty in June to two counts of pandering minors for prostitution and one count of child pornography.

Barnhill was arrested in December after a search for a missing 16-year-old girl led officers to his apartment. Prosecutors said Barnhill photographed the teen and said he was going to set up a “date” for her to engage in sexual acts. The girl never engaged in prostitution for Barnhill, but prosecutors say other women did, including a 15-year-old.

Prosecutors say Barnhill took nude pictures of the 15-year-old and a 17-year-old and filmed the 17-year-old performing oral sex on him.
