New York school evacuated because of noxious odor

YONKERS, N.Y. (AP) — A New York school has been evacuated because of a noxious odor, and some students have suffered from eye irritation.

Schools spokeswoman Jeri Fierstein says 140 students were removed after the unidentified odor surfaced in a cafeteria at the Yonkers Middle/High School on Wednesday. The students have been taken to a hospital to be checked.

Police and fire officials are investigating.
