Pedestrian struck and killed in Montgomery Village

Montgomery County Police say a man was killed after he was hit by a car driven by an 18-year-old woman who may have been under the influence of alcohol.

Police said the collision occurred  Saturday at approximately 1:22 a.m. at the intersection of Goshen Road and East Village Drive in Montgomery Village.

Responders  found an unconscious adult male with obvious injuries in the intersection. He was transported to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, where he died approximately 2:00 a.m. He has been identified as Osmin de Jesus Montano Carrillo, 35, of the 19600 block of Club Lake Road in Montgomery Village.

Police say the driver female driver, identified as Helen Rommel of Laytonsville,  may have been under the influence of alcohol. She was taken into custody and provided a breath sample for analysis. Any charges will be determined pending the outcome of the investigation.

Police are urging anyone with information regarding this collision to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620. Callers may remain anonymous.
