Normal service resumes on Red Line

WASHINGTON — Metro resumed normal Red Line service several hours after a cracked rail disrupted the morning commute.

Trains ran on a single track between the Van Ness and Dupont Circle stations throughout the morning commute, causing delays in each direction.

Trains also bypassed the Woodley Park and Cleveland Park stations to minimize delays. Trains resumed stops at those stations after 10 a.m.

The delays prompted Metro to suggest that riders consider taking the bus..
