Rangers’ Holland out against A’s with migraine

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Left-hander Derek Holland of the Texas Rangers has been scratched from his start against Oakland on Saturday night because of a migraine headache.

Holland missed the first five months of the season after injuring his left knee when he tripped over his dog at home during the offseason. He is 2-0 with a 1.31 ERA in five starts.

Right-hander Scott Baker was set to start in Holland’s place.

Rookie right-hander Nick Martinez is the scheduled Texas starter for the season finale on Sunday, but Holland could replace him.

The A’s need one win or one Seattle loss to clinch an AL wild-card spot. Right-hander Jeff Samardzija is starting for Oakland.
