ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — The Maryland State Board of Elections has found that Republican gubernatorial candidate Larry Hogan should have disclosed the value of a poll conducted by a group he created before he decided to run for governor.

However, the board decided Thursday not to impose a fine.

Jared DeMarinis, director of the candidacy and campaign finance division of the board, says Hogan’s campaign is going to amend a campaign finance report to reflect the value of the poll as an $825 contribution from Change Maryland. Hogan used the poll from last year to test the waters on a potential run for governor. Hogan later bought the assets of the group for his campaign.

The Maryland Democratic Party filed a complaint against Hogan’s campaign over the use of Change Maryland.
