Metro: some to wait longer for weekend trains

WASHINGTON (AP) — Metro says riders on some lines will wait longer for trains this weekend and that only the silver line is unaffected.

Metro says beginning Friday at 10 p.m. and continuing through system closing on Sunday, orange line trains will run every 24 minutes instead of regular weekend service, which is every 12 minutes. Metro says trains on the green and blue lines will run every 20 minutes.

On the red line, trains will operate every 15 minutes, though there will be additional trains between Grosvenor and NoMa-Gallaudet during daytime hours on Saturday and Sunday.

Metro says trains on the silver line and yellow line will operate at regular weekend intervals.
