Utility Work To Cause Road Closures In Woodmont Triangle

Image from the notice sent to property owners surrounding the Norfolk construction site

Utility work related to an apartment construction project in Woodmont Triangle will mean intermittent lane and road closures for the next roughly two months.

Crews building 7770 Norfolk Ave., the 17-story, 250-unit apartment building coming to the corner of Norfolk and Fairmont Avenues, will be installing and connecting new utility extensions for the building.

According to a notice sent to surrounding property owners last month, the work will mean car and pedestrian detours where Norfolk Avenue intersects with Fairmont and Woodmont Avenues — smack in the middle of Woodmont Triangle.

The work is expected to take seven weeks. All road closures and detours must happen between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to avoid rush hour periods.

Businesses on Fairmont Avenue haven’t had much luck of late, with construction on the Bainbridge Bethesda apartment causing closed sidewalks and lane closures for much of last year.
