US stocks open little changed after two losses

NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stock indexes are opening little changed as the market comes off of two days of losses.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts fell 4 percent after reporting earnings that fell short of analysts’ forecasts.

The Dow Jones industrial average was off three points at 17,009 as of 9:35 a.m. Eastern time Wednesday.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 index was down a fraction at 1,987. The Nasdaq composite rose five points, or 0.1 percent, to 4,557.

European markets were mixed. France’s CAC-40 was flat while Germany’s DAX fell 0.1 percent.

Bond prices fell. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note rose to 2.53 percent.
