LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — The International Gymnastics Federation has sanctioned its vice president for “supervisory negligence” in overseeing a judging course.

FIG says Michel Leglise of France is suspended from its presidential commission through August 2016.

Leglise is the latest high-ranking official disciplined in connection with a training course for rhythmic gymnastics judges held in December 2012 in Bucharest, Romania.

FIG says Leglise was “blamed in respect of his failure to comply with the written directives” of FIG President Bruno Grandi.

The disciplinary case was requested by the Russian head of FIG’s rhythmic technical panel.

Leglise is also barred as vice president of artistic gymnastics and from any rhythmic gymnastics duty for the next two years, the federation says.

He can appeal within 21 days.
