Hyattsville man struck by car in Aug. dies

HYATTSVILLE, Md. (AP) — Police in Prince George’s County say a pedestrian who was hit by a car in Hyattsville in August has died of his injuries.

Police say they were called to the 1800 block of University Boulevard on Aug. 9 around 6 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a car. When police arrived, they found 30-year-old Fredy Gonzalez Hernandez of Hyattsville suffering from critical injuries.

Hernandez was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries Sept. 5.

Police say a preliminary investigation reveals Hernandez was struck as he crossed University Boulevard and that he was not in a crosswalk at the time of the crash. The driver that struck Hernandez remained on the scene.
