More Dangerous Toxins Found Misplaced In NIH Labs – After finding misplaced vials of the smallpox virus in July, NIH officials have found a batch of other deadly toxins and pathogens improperly stored throughout the Bethesda campus. Planning Board Vacancy Draws 25 Applicants – There’s no shortage of applicants for the vacant Planning Board commissioner spot left by Casey Anderson’s selection as Planning Board chair. More than two dozen county residents, including former commissioner and Chevy Chase resident Meredith Wellington, have applied for the spot. Wellington was put on the short-list of finalists for the chair post, which came open when Francoise Carrier announced she wouldn’t seek a second term. The Council chose Anderson and will choose the new commissioner to take his spot. [The Gazette]
