NEW YORK (AP) — The Federal Aviation Administration says three bird strikes were reported in a four-hour period at New York’s LaGuardia Airport. No one was injured.

The FAA says two of the arriving planes Wednesday belonged to ExpressJet Airlines. One was turning to land at around 7:15 a.m. when a bird apparently hit its nose gear. The other was taxiing to a ramp at around 9 a.m. when it reported a strike.

At around 11:15 a.m., an incoming Air Canada flight landed safely after reporting a bird strike 12 miles northeast of LaGuardia.

Birds have been a longstanding problem around LaGuardia. In 2009, a jet leaving the airport hit a flock of geese, knocking out both engines. Pilot Chesley Sullenberger safely landed it on the Hudson River, becoming a national hero.
