Lyonssomewhere wins 60th Cane Pace

NICHOLS, N.Y. (AP) — Lyonssomewhere beat favorite He’s Watching by a half-length Monday to win the $437, 325 Cane Pace, the first leg of the Pacing Triple Crown.

Lyonssomewhere, driven by Yannick Gingras, took the lead on the first turn. He’s watching, driven by Tim Tetrick, went four-wide to challenge the leader, but could not catch him. Doo Wop Hanover finished third.

Lyonssomewhere, the son of Somebeachsomewhere, is trained by Jimmy Takter and owned by Geoffrey Lyons Mound.
