Head-on collision kills Va. man

WASHINGTON — A Virginia man was killed in a head-on collision early Wednesday on U.S. Route 15 near Lucketts, Virginia.

Shortly before 6 a.m., authorities said, a 2008 Ford F-150 traveling southbound crossed over the center line just south of Montresor Road, near Raspberry Falls Golf and Hunt Club.

The pickup collided with a northbound 2013 Subaru Impreza.

The Subaru’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Department. The pickup’s driver declined treatment.

U.S. 15 was closed in both directions for over two hours afterward.

The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
