LA Galaxy reacquire Alan Gordon from San Jose

CARSON, Calif. (AP) — The LA Galaxy have reacquired veteran forward Alan Gordon from the San Jose Earthquakes in a trade for allocation money.

The clubs announced the deal Monday.

Gordon spent six seasons with the Galaxy after they drafted the Southern California native in 2004, contributing 16 goals and 12 assists in 80 appearances. He won the MLS Cup with the Galaxy in 2005 and contributed to two Western Conference championship teams while becoming a fan favorite.

The 32-year-old Gordon played for Toronto FC, Chivas USA and the Earthquakes over the past half-decade. He had a career-high 13 goals and seven assists in 2012 with San Jose.

Gordon is likely to be a reserve in an offense already featuring Robbie Keane and Gyasi Zardes up front.
