Tennessee couple guilty of killing man’s ex-wife

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) — A Tennessee couple has been convicted of first-degree murder in the shooting death of the man’s ex-wife in Maryland.

A Montgomery County jury on Thursday convicted 63-year-old Baldeo Taneja and his wife, 63-year-old Raminder Kaur, both of Nashville, of first-degree murder.

Taneja’s ex-wife, 49-year-old Preeta Gabba, was found fatally shot near her Germantown home on Oct. 12, 2013.

Prosecutors say Kaur and Taneja drove from Nashville to the Germantown area, killed Gabba and drove back to Nashville, where they were arrested the next day.

Taneja and Kaur face a maximum of life in prison at sentencing on Oct. 15.
