WOODBINE, Md. (AP) — Authorities in Carroll County say a train struck a car that ignored active railroad crossing warning lights but that no one was injured.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The sheriff’s office says that two cars were stopped at a railroad crossing when the third car in line went around the other two and entered the crossing. The sheriff’s office says the car was struck and damaged by a CSX train.

The sheriff’s office says no injuries were reported and that there was only minor damage to the train.

The sheriff’s office says the 21-year-old driver of the car was cited for failure to obey a railroad grade crossing and barrier, failure to stay right of center and driving on an expired license.
