Walker scratched from lineup with back tightness

PHOENIX (AP) — Pittsburgh Pirates second baseman Neil Walker was a late scratch from Saturday night’s lineup against the Arizona Diamondbacks because of back tightness.

Walker has 18 hits in his last 53 at-bats (.340) and leads National League second basemen in home runs with 16. Josh Harrison, originally Saturday’s left fielder, replaced Walker at second base and Travis Snider played left field.

Walker missed 16 straight games with lower back problems in 2012 but has not dealt with anything similar since.
