Man struck, killed on Metro tracks in Va.

WASHINGTON — Metro officials confirmed that an adult male was struck and killed on the train tracks in Alexandria, Va., in the early morning hours on Saturday.

The victim’s name and age were not released as of this morning.

The spokesperson told WTOP that the accident happened on the tracks between the Van Dorn and Franconia-Springfield Stations, which are the last two stations, respectively, on the Blue Line.

No other details were available. Story is developing.
