Diamondbacks select Andy Marte, recall Kieschnick

PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks selected infielder Andy Marte and recalled outfielder Roger Kieschnick from Triple-A Reno on Thursday after making two trades.

Arizona traded third baseman Martin Prado to the New York Yankees and sent outfielder Gerardo Parra to Milwaukee before the non-waiver trade deadline.

The 30-year-old Marte hit .330 with 13 home runs and 62 RBIs in 102 games for Reno. In 302 games in six seasons in the majors with Atlanta and Cleveland, he has hit .218 with 20 home runs and 96 RBIs.

The 27-year-old Kieschnick hit .207 with a double, home run and two RBIs in 19 games in two stints for Arizona this season. In 74 games for Reno, he hit .268 with 11 homers and 34 RBIs.
