Pr. George’s police: Man stabbed wife, relative, tried to kill himself

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) — Police say a man in Prince George’s County stabbed his wife and a relative of hers before trying to kill himself.

Cpl. Harry Bond of the Prince George’s County Police Department says officers responded Tuesday morning to a home in Upper Marlboro on a report of an assault.

Bond says officers found a man and woman suffering from stab wounds and then found the suspect a few blocks away. The preliminary investigation suggests the man tried to kill himself after attacking his wife and the other man.

Bond says the victims fled to the home of an off-duty officer, who called for help.

The woman and her husband have life-threatening injuries. The second victim’s injuries aren’t life-threatening.

Bond says the man will eventually be charged, but the investigation is still ongoing.
