ATM theft on video may be connected to 5 similar cases

WASHINGTON — Prince George’s County police have released surveillance video of a Dec. 20 ATM theft that might be connected to five similar cases last month.

The ATM theft occurred in the 3200 block of Queens Chapel Road in Hyattsville, Maryland. In the video, three suspects are seen crashing a truck into the ATM to dislodge it, putting it into the back of the truck and driving off.

Of the six total cases, four ATMs at different gas stations were successfully stolen. In each incident, as many as four suspects were involved.

Anyone with information on any of the recent ATM thefts is asked to call 301-699-2601. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
