Yahoo offers after-death message

WASHINGTON — There’s a very fine line between the Internet — and the afterlife.

Yahoo Japan is offering a new service called “Yahoo Ending” that sends an email to your loved ones — from the grave.

Promotional videos show a grieving family sitting in a living room.

All of their phones suddenly beep.

They look down to see a message: “If you’re reading this now, it means I’ve already left this world … I had a really happy life thanks to you.”

The service also deactivates your Yahoo account, deletes private documents and cancels automatic bill payments.

The Washington Post reports the service costs just $1.80 a month.

If you could send an email after you leave this world, what would your message be? Post a comment in this story, comment on WTOP’s Facebook Page or use #WTOP on Twitter.
