Rider slashes Metrobus driver

WASHINGTON – A Metrobus driver was in the hospital Monday after being slashed in the face by a rider.

The bus was stopped at Albemarle and 40th streets NW in Tenleytown shortly after 1 p.m.

Metro Transit Police arrested a suspect and recovered a knife from the attack.

The suspect is charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

The driver did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
