Police locate missing Reston teen

WASHINGTON — Police in Fairfax County said they have located a teen who was listed as a “critical missing” person after he didn’t show up for his shift at a Reston grocery store earlier this week.

Officers located 17-year-old Elliott Byrum Thursday afternoon, the Fairfax County police said. Police said he is in good health and will be reunited with this family soon.

Byrum had previously been listed as a “critical missing person’ earlier Thursday after he didn’t report work at the store. Police said he was last seen in front of the north Point Giant in Reston around 2:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Earlier, police said they were worried Byrum may be in danger because of mental disabilities and his family was concerned for his well-being.
