WASHINGTON — Preliminary ideas are in for Interstate 270 improvement plans in Maryland.

Maryland Secretary of Transportation Pete Rahn said that a contract could be awarded by March.

“If you’re standing at 495 and you’re looking north of 270, whomever can move it the farthest, the furthest, the fastest gets the contract,” Rahn said.

The $100 million-contract will be spent improving I-270 and another almost $500,000 will be spent on other road projects in Montgomery County.
