Man dies in Montgomery County crash

WASHINGTON — A man died in a single-vehicle crash that closed a Montgomery County roadway for hours Thursday afternoon.

Around 12:30 p.m., a single vehicle went down an embankment and crashed, Montgomery County Fire & Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer said in a tweet. The crash and its investigation closed MD-355 between MD-109 and Comus Road in Clarksburg, Maryland, through the afternoon.

Around 5 p.m., MD-355 reopened.

There was only one man in the vehicle, and he died as a result of the impact, said Montgomery County police. Officials have not release the man’s name.

Authorities are investigating the crash, and have not yet said what led to the collision.
