RG3, fan engage in social media feud on Instagram

WASHINGTON — It may be the NFL offseason, but Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is back in the news this week after sparring with a fan on Instagram. After posting a seemingly innocuous video of himself singing and swaying to the Michael Jackson hit “Billie Jean” from his car on the way to a workout, a fan lashed out in the comments section.

“This is why you will be cut after next year in Washington,” said user @cperezrn, who went on to reference the letter sent to season ticket holders last week that highlighted several team stars while omitting Griffin. “Why you weren’t even mentioned as the future. You are a ‘QB’. Not give back or Train? Honest Question.” The two continued to go back and forth, with more fans weighing in on both sides. After the user self-described as a “military man,” Griffin — who comes from a military family — ended his half of the exchange. “Military families have class, dignity & loyalty. I will maintain mine. You have not shown any of those. I will keep it that way and let you go right off my page God Bless”
