WASHINGTON — At the side of the road at the intersection of Beulah Road and Va. 7 is the location of what may be Fairfax County’s saddest bus stop — but not for long.

Fire station 42 of Wolf Trap Firehouse is building a community bus stop, with help from businesses and organizations that donated materials, and personnel who will give their time.

Located adjacent to the fire station, the current stop is just a posted sign that sits along a busy section of Va. 7. Bus riders have to line up and wait by the side of the road, exposed to traffic.

The new bus stop will have a seating area and adequate shelter for riders. The project was proposed by Capt. Gery Morrison of Fairfax Fire and Rescue.
