Man in wheelchair in traffic lane in Md. struck, killed

CLINTON, Md. (AP) — Prince George’s County Police say a man in a wheelchair who was in a road in Clinton was struck and killed.

The department said in a news release on Monday that the crash occurred Friday night on Stuart Lane. Police say 49-year-old Abdul Jama of Clinton was in the southbound traffic lane when he was hit by a car traveling south.

Jama died at a local hospital. Police say the driver stayed at the scene.

The crash is under investigation.
