WASHINGTON – There’s nothing like the unconditional love of a favorite pet.

That’s made very clear in a video of a soldier being greeted by his dog, after the soldier’s eight-month deployment to Afghanistan.

When the boxer named Chuck hears the words “Daddy’s home,” he leaps out of an SUV and jumps all over his owner Nick, licking him and covering him with love. It’s all Nick can do to keep the dog from knocking him over.

The video, which has gone viral with more than 1.5 million views in its first week, was uploaded by the soldier’s wife, after Nick left Afghanistan and returned to Germany.
