Silver Spring boy drowns at McLean party

WASHINGTON — A 4-year-old boy drowned on Saturday during a party in McLean, Virginia, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Police were called to the home, along the 900 block of Douglass Drive, shortly after 9 p.m. on June 28. Once they arrived, police officers found adults performing CPR on the boy in the backyard.

He was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

According to police, the boy and his family — from Silver Spring, Maryland — were at the party when another child saw the boy in the pool and told the adults.
